SBI PO exam pattern/format:
Selection process from Probationary Officers (PO) in the SBI bank consist of two phases:
Phase-1: Written test (Objective & Descriptive)
Phase-2: Group Discussion & Interview.
Although it has not been given in the notification, SBI usually calls three times the number of vacancies for Phase-2, which in the current case should be around 13500.
Papers of SBI PO exam:
SBI written exam consist of a 200 marks (2-hour duration) objective test and a 50 marks (1-hour duration) descriptive test.
Papers in the Objective test is as follows:
English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc.)
General Awareness, Marketing & Computers
Data Analysis & Interpretation
Reasoning (High Level)
The descriptive test consists of following paper:
English Language (Comprehension, short précis, letter writing & essay).

SBI has not specified any syllabus for the above exams.
Cut-offs for SBI PO exam
No cut-off has been declared by SBI for either of Phase-1 or Phase-2.
However in Phase-1, you need to qualify in each of the four objective tests as well as the descriptive test – and also secure minimum aggregate of 40% for unreserved categories & 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories in the objective tests as well as the descriptive test. Also in Phase-2 (GD & Interview), you need to secure minimum 40% for unreserved categories & 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories.
