Chattisgarh State -India

Chhattisgarh is India's 26th state, covers an area of 135,133 sq km. of the total geographical area of nation India and located in Center of India.

Chhattisgarh state of India came into existence on November 1, 2000. Mother tongue of Chhattisgarh is Chattisgarhi.There are 18 districts (initially there was 15 districts) in the state.

# Andhra Pradesh to the south.

About CGPSC, Colleges, University, Admission in Chattisgarh

Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, i.e. CGPSC examination held by Chhattisgarh State for graduate students and gazette posts, rajya seva posts. To say CGPSC is a Constitutional Body established to conduct examinations and recruit qualified candidates for appointment to the service of Government of Chhattisgarh.

Prospective candidates of CGPSC 2011 have to be cautious to enter accurate personal details for registration. Booker prize 2011:
Philip Roth wins Man Booker International Prize 2011 .
Arundhati Roy (born on November 24, 1961) won the Booker prize for her brilliant and poetic novel “The God of Small Things” in the year 1997 making her the first Indian to receive the prestigious award.Out of a total of 138 books, only 13 have been included in the 2011 Booker long list.
No Indian author this year.


Jnanpith awards 2011:Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday handed over the prestigious Jnanpith Award for 2007 to Malayalam poet ONV Kurup in Thiruvananthapuram
The prestigious Moortidevi Award of Bharatiya Jnanpith for 2008 has gone to Hindi writer Dr Raghuvansh. Malayalam writer Akkitham Achyuthan Nambbodiri will be the recipient of the 2009 award.

Kannada writer S L Bhyrappa was selected for the prestigious Saraswati Samman for his novel ‘Mandra’.


Vyas Samman 2010:

 Padma Shri (India’s Fourth Highest Civilian Award): Among 84 awardees are Urvashi Butalia,Irrfan Khan, Kajol Indira Hinduja, Shaji n Karun, Usha Uthup, Tabassum H. Khan (alias Tabu), Sivapatham Vittal, Gagan Narang, Mk Saroja, Jayaram Subhramaniam, Prof. Ea Siddiq VVS Laxman, Krishna Poona, Harbhajan Singh Mamang Dal, Gulshan Nanada and Prof. Upendra Baxi Some others awards: The gallantry awards also include135 sena Medals, 5 Bar to Sena Medals, 755 Police Medals. CRPF received the highest number of medals recipients – 123-among police forces.
