Chattisgarh State -India

Chhattisgarh is India's 26th state, covers an area of 135,133 sq km. of the total geographical area of nation India and located in Center of India.

Chhattisgarh state of India came into existence on November 1, 2000. Mother tongue of Chhattisgarh is Chattisgarhi.There are 18 districts (initially there was 15 districts) in the state.

6 States of India which are bordered with Chhattisgarh state -
# Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh to the north
# Andhra Pradesh to the south.
# Orissa State to the east.
And by the Madhya Pradesh to the west.

About CGPSC, Colleges, University, Admission in Chattisgarh

Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, i.e. CGPSC examination held by Chhattisgarh State for graduate students and gazette posts, rajya seva posts. To say CGPSC is a Constitutional Body established to conduct examinations and recruit qualified candidates for appointment to the service of Government of Chhattisgarh.

Prospective candidates of CGPSC 2011 have to be cautious to enter accurate personal details for registration. Regular updates regarding advertisements and notifications of CGPSC 2011 can be accessed by creating a registered profile on the official website. To apply for an examination a candidate must go through the registration process. The CGPSC main exam will be held after preliminary exam for CGPSC 2011.

22.The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the list of Alltime Greatest Test team on 18 July 2011. The ICC’s list includes four Indian cricketers namely- batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar and Virender Sehwag.

23.Usha Ananthasubramanian, former general manager of BoB(Bank Of Baroda) appointed executive director of public sector lender Punjab National Bank (PNB)

24.India's communication satellite GSAT-12, which was put from the space station at Sriharikota in orbit on 15 July 2011, reached its home in a circular geo-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 36,000 km on 18 July 2011.

26.Short-range surface-to-surface missile developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation, Prahar was successfully test-fired on 21 July 2011 from the Integrated Test Range in Balasore,Orissa.Prahar which is a single stage missile with a range of 150 km and fuelled by solid propellants took off from a road mobile launcher in Launch Complex 3 of ITR in Chandipur.Prahar with greater accuracy will fill the gap between Pinaka, the multi-barrel rocket system, which has a range of 45 km and the Prithvi missile that can attack targets 250 km to 350 km away.

27.In the backdrop of exposure of the doping scandal among Indian athletes, the Sports Ministry on 20 July 2011 announced the separation of National Institute of Sports (NIS) Patiala from Sports Authority of India (SAI).

29.Swedish carmaker Volvo appointed Tomas Ernberg as the Managing Director of Volvo Auto India

30.Karnataka's Uma Devi Nagaraj on 21 July 2011 dismissed defending champion Meenal Thakur's challenge in a fairly one-sided final, to claim the women's billiards title

31.Andhra Pradesh gained the position of the most visited destination in the country recording 155.8 million domestic tourists in 2010.

32.Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was honoured with Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters from the French government by the Ambassador of France in New Delhi, Jerome Bonnafont on 13 July 2011. Aishwarya will now receive the award on the eve of the National Day of France. Bastille Day is the French National Day, which is celebrated on 14 July of each year.Aishwarya is the first Asian actress and the youngest Indian to win the honour.Other Indian celebrities, who were conferred with the honour in the past, include Sharmila Tagore, Habib Tanveer, Shah Rukh Khan, Raghu Rai, Upamanyu Chatterjee and Nandita Das.

33.The Dinesh Khanna-led Arjuna award panel had recommended increasing the number of Arjuna awards to 19 instead of the normal 15.The selection of cricketer Zaheer Khan and Ashish Kumar, who bagged the first medals for the country in gymnastics in the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games, came as no surprise.Swimmer Virdhawal Khade, who won the elusive Asian Games medal in Guangzhou, the first for the country after Khajan Singh's effort in 1986 in Seoul, was also chosen for the award.Swimmer Prasanta Karmakar who had the distinction of winning the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games medals, was selected for the award in the paralympic category. The captains of the men's and women's kabaddi teams, Rakesh Kumar and Tejaswini Bai, were chosen for the award.Tejaswini Sawant, who won the world championship gold in shooting, also made the list. Archer Rahul Banerjee, a gold medallist in World Cups and individual champion in the Commonwealth Games, was chosen for the honour as well.Asian champion and gold medallist in the Commonwealth Games, boxer Suranjoy Singh, Greco-Roman wrestler Ravinder Singh, winner of the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games, and weightlifter K. Ravi Kumar, providing a silver lining to the troubled sport got for the award.Hockey captain Rajpal Singh, badminton ace Jwala Gutta, volleyball player Sanjay Kumar, footballer Sunil Chetri, who almost got it last year, and wushu silver medallist in the Asian Games, Sandhya Rani Devi, were the others to be chosen for the Arjuna award.

Dronacharya award:
Five coaches were chosen for the Dronacharya award. The awardees are as follows: Ram Phal (wrestling), Devendra Kumar Rathore (gymnastics), I. Venkateswara Rao (boxing), Rajender Singh (hockey) and Kunthal Kumar Roy (athletics).Yashvir Singh, long-time coach of world champion and Olympic bronze medallist wrestler Sushil Kumar, withdrew his nomination on 21 July evening thereby clearing the route for Ram Phal, coach of Yogeshwar Dutt.

Gagan Narang, shooter was selected for Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award.

34.Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards 2010 presented by Vice-President, Hamid Ansarion 22 July 2011.The highest honour of Akademi Fellowship (Akademi Ratna Sadasyata) was conferred on eminent vocalist Girija Devi, renowned dance guru Nataraja Ramakrishna, Dhrupad maestro Rahim Fahimuddin Dagar, and Mridangam vidwan T. K. Murthy.

35.Union Government appointed Senior Advocate Rohinton Nariman as the Solicitor-General.He succeeded Gopal Subramanium.

36.The President of India, Pratibha Devisingh Patil on 21 July 2011 released a commemorative postage stamp on Vitthal Sakharam Page. The postage stamp was released in recognition of Page’s illustrious contribution in the field of social service, culture, education & literature, economics, philosophy etc

37.Maulana Ghulam Mohammad Vastanvi was removed from the post of Mohtamim (Vice-Chancellor) of Darul Uloom, Deoband on 24 July 2011 by the Majlis-e-Shoora powerful governing body of the institution.

38.Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi in Time magazine’s list of 10 ‘Resolute’ Wives

39.Hussain Dalwai of the Congress won the Rajya Sabha by-election in Maharashtra

40.Former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was honoured posthumously with the highest Bangladesh award- the Bangladesh Swadhinata Sammanona

41.Five-time national champion Vidya Pillai Tilakraj of Tamil Nadu defeated Arantxa Sanchis in the final in the National billiards and snooker championship

42.Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) celebrated its Foundation Day on 27 July 2011.Dr. Deekshatulu won the award for his work in ocean science and technology while Dr. Keshavamurthy received it for his contributions in atmospheric science and technology.

43.Indian striker Shabbir Ali became First Footballer to win the Prestigious Dhyan Chand Award

44.Two Indians- Nileema Mishra & Harish Hande received Ramon Magsaysay Award for 2011Nileema Mishra, a lender to the poor in Maharashtra and US-trained Indian engineer Harish Hande who revolutionized the use of solar lights.

45.Virdhawal Khade became Second Indian swimmer to qualify for 2012 London Olympics .Sandeep Sejwal was the first swimmer to qualify.

46.RBI hiked the short-term indicative policy rate (repo rate) by 50 basis points from 7.5 per cent to 8 per cent

47.India and Mongolia signed three agreements which includes defence cooperation, media exchanges and cooperation between their planning commissions

58.Veteran journalist-turned-politician Inder Jit died in New Delhi on 31 July 2011. Inder Jit started his career as a journalist with the Hindustan Times in 1948. He then went on to work with several foreign newspapers including London's Daily Telegraph and The Times. He joined the Times of India in 1953 and worked as one of its Special Correspondents till 1962 when he joined the India News and Feature Alliance.

59.Indian-American Mitul Desai, an expert in international finance law was in July 2011 appointed as Senior Adviser in the U.S. State Department's South and Central Asia Bureau to cement ties with the Diaspora groups.

60.SlutWalk-Delhi or Besharmi Morcha-2011 to ensure the right of women to move freely in their choice of clothing without being victimised was started in New Delhi at Jantar Mantar on 31 July 2011.The SlutWalk movement originated in Toronto, Canada in early 2011 when a policeman reportedly remarked that women should avoid dressing up as sluts in order not to be victimised.
