Chattisgarh State -India

Chhattisgarh is India's 26th state, covers an area of 135,133 sq km. of the total geographical area of nation India and located in Center of India.

Chhattisgarh state of India came into existence on November 1, 2000. Mother tongue of Chhattisgarh is Chattisgarhi.There are 18 districts (initially there was 15 districts) in the state.

6 States of India which are bordered with Chhattisgarh state -
# Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh to the north
# Andhra Pradesh to the south.
# Orissa State to the east.
And by the Madhya Pradesh to the west.

About CGPSC, Colleges, University, Admission in Chattisgarh

Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, i.e. CGPSC examination held by Chhattisgarh State for graduate students and gazette posts, rajya seva posts. To say CGPSC is a Constitutional Body established to conduct examinations and recruit qualified candidates for appointment to the service of Government of Chhattisgarh.

Prospective candidates of CGPSC 2011 have to be cautious to enter accurate personal details for registration. Regular updates regarding advertisements and notifications of CGPSC 2011 can be accessed by creating a registered profile on the official website. To apply for an examination a candidate must go through the registration process. The CGPSC main exam will be held after preliminary exam for CGPSC 2011.

  • Veteran journalist Kalyan K. Chaudhuri died on 2 September 2011. He was a Special Correspondent for Frontline magazine from August 1991 till retirement in December 2003. Chaudhuri was known for his informed journalistic writing.
  • Kapil Sibal released a commemorative Postage Stamp on noted freedom fighter & social worker, Surendra Nath Jauhar.
  • Food inflation reached the double-digit limit, 10.05% for the week ended 20 August 2011 for the first time in five months.
  • State-run Steel Authority of India (SAIL) announced the appointment of Anil Kumar Chaudhary as its director, finance.
  •  Indian boxer Vijender Singh won gold and also bagged the Best Boxer award at the World Police and Fire Games in New York.
  • Former Davis Cupper and secretary of the All-India Lawn Tennis Association Sumant Misra died on 3 September 2011.
  • Durgesh Kumar Pal won the gold medal in the 400m hurdles in the Commonwealth Youth Games
  • Major General (retd) BC Khanduri was appointed the sixth Chief Minister of Uttarakhand in place of Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank
  • India defeated Pakistan 4-2 in the inaugural Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament
  • Bollywood's legendary photographer Gautam Rajadhyaksha passed away in Mumbai on 13 September 2011

  • RBI hiked the short-term policy rate (repo rate) by 25 basis points from 8 per cent to 8.25 per cent .

  • Hindi authors Amar Kant & Shrilal Shukla was chosen for Jnanpith Award for 2009, while Kannada litterateur Chandrasekhar Kambar won it for 2010 
  • ONGC won Best Financial Performance award in Maharatna and Navaratna category 
  • According to study, Mapping Murder, UP,Bihar & Jharkhand account for two-thirds of total 6219 firearm-related deaths in India
  • Former Indian cricket captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi nicknamed Tiger Pataudi died in New Delhi on 22 September 2011
  • Goa became the first state in India to launch Swarnajayanti Aarogya Bima Yojana providing health insurance cover for the entire resident population of the State
  • Congress veteran and former Union minister Vasant Sathe died 
  • Surface to surface strategic PRITHVI (P-II) Missile developed by DRDO was successfully flight tested at on 26 September 2011, from Launch Complex-III, ITR, Chandipur, Balasore District in Orissa.
  • Nuclear-capable surface-to-surface medium range missile, Shaurya, was test-fired from Chandipur-on-sea off the Orissa coast on 24 September 2011.
  • The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) on 26 September 2011 honoured  11 scientists with the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology for the year 2011. The list of the awardees in the different categories are as follows:

    The Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology  was first given in 1958. It is regarded as the country's highest award in science is named after the founder director of CSIR, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar. It is given to a scientist up to 45 years of age and carries a prize of Rs 5 lakh
    • Ministry of Finance appointed K. S. Sreenivasan as non-official director on the board of Oriental Bank of Commerce.
    • Legendary playback singer Lata Mangeshkar honoured with the first Hridaynath award for her contribution to Indian music
    • Rajiv Vastupal succeded Gautam Thapar as president of the All-India Management Association (AIMA)
    • IGNOU conferred the Rajiv Gandhi International Prize for Technology in Education and Development on Azim Premji Foundation
