Chhattisgarh is India's 26th state, covers an area of 135,133 sq km. of the total geographical area of nation India and located in Center of India.

Chhattisgarh state of India came into existence on November 1, 2000. Mother tongue of Chhattisgarh is Chattisgarhi.There are 18 districts (initially there was 15 districts) in the state.

6 States of India which are bordered with Chhattisgarh state -
# Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh to the north
# Andhra Pradesh to the south.
# Orissa State to the east.
And by the Madhya Pradesh to the west.

About CGPSC, Colleges, University, Admission in Chattisgarh

Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, i.e. CGPSC examination held by Chhattisgarh State for graduate students and gazette posts, rajya seva posts. To say CGPSC is a Constitutional Body established to conduct examinations and recruit qualified candidates for appointment to the service of Government of Chhattisgarh.

Prospective candidates of CGPSC 2011 have to be cautious to enter accurate personal details for registration. Regular updates regarding advertisements and notifications of CGPSC 2011 can be accessed by creating a registered profile on the official website. To apply for an examination a candidate must go through the registration process. The CGPSC main exam will be held after preliminary exam for CGPSC 2011.

1.The Maharashtra State Cabinet on 1 June 2011 approved the proposal to increase the minimum age for consumption of hard liquor from 21 to 25 years.

2.The UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on 1 June 2011 launched the Janani-Shishu Suraksha Programme at Mewat in Haryana. Janani-Shishu Suraksha programme was sponsored by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The programme was launched for pregnant women with the objective to effectively address the problem of maternal and child mortality.

3.SK Sharma, Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance on 3 June 2011 launched an online grievance redressal portal for insurance policy holders in New Delhi.

4.Former finance secretary Ashok Chawla was selected by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for the post of chairman of India's anti-trust watchdog Competition Commission (CCI).Chawla succeeded Dhanendra Kumar.

5.SEBI imposed a penalty of Rs 14 crore on Dushyant Natwarlal Dalal andPuloma Dushyant Dalal who were the two financiers for unlawful gains made during the infamous IPO scam of 2003-05.

6.Prithvi-II missile was successfully flight-tested on 9 June 2011 by the Strategic Forces Command personnel. It was flight-tested at the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Orissa.

7.Popular kuchipudi classical dancer Nataraja Ramakrishna known for reviving and introducing Andhra Natyam and Perini Shivatandavam, died on 7 June 2011.

8.India and the World Bank signed three agreements for cleaning the Ganga  River on 14 June 2011. Besides this, the agreement also held forstrengthening Rural Livelihoods and Biodiversity Conservation of India.

9.Jehan Daruwala of Mumbai was in June 2011 selected to represent India in  the CIK-FIA under-18 World karting championships for 2011 in three rounds in Italy, France and Bahrain.

10.Annu Raj Singh became the 5th Indian shooter to book her berth for the London’s Olympic to be held in 2012.

11.UNESCO removed the in-danger tag from the Manas National Park, a World Heritage Site in Assam. The tag suffixed to the national park was removed at the 35th session of Unesco’s World Heritage Committee in Paris that started on 20 June 2011.

12.The Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL) on 22 June 2011 offered two sites to the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited(NPCIL) for setting up a second nuclear power plant in the State. HPGCL and NPCIL officers will visit these sites in Balsamand area of Hisar district and the Kitlana-Nimiriwali-Ajitpur area of Bhiwani district on 23 and 24 June 2011 to further access the suitability of the place for setting up the second power plant.

13.Leading international business school INSEAD on 22 June 2011 honouredSunil Bharti Mittal, Founder, Chairman and Group CEO of Bharti Enterprises, with its Business Leader for the World Award.

14.Eminent economist Prof. Suresh Tendulkar who played a significant part in moulding the government’s economic policy making died of a cardiac arrest in Pune on 21 June 2011. At the time of death, he was one of the directors of the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India.

15.India's ace magician Gopinath Muthukad received the International Merlin Award also known as the magicians' Oscar for the year 2011 on 23 June 2011 from Tony HassiniPresident of the US based International Magicians SocietyGopinath Muthukad is the second Indian to be chosen to receive the Merlin Award after PC Sorkar Jr.

16.FMCG giant Unilever elevated Harish Manwani on 24 June 2011 to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). Prior to being appointed as the COO he was the non-executive chairman of Hindustan Lever.

17.12th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards ceremony was organised in Toronto on 25 June 2011.The list of winners in the different categories is as follows:

18.Defending champion Saina Nehwal failed to complete the hat-trick of titles at the Indonesian Open Super Series after losing to Chinese World No. 3 Wang Yihan in the final on 26 June 2011.

19.Minster of Communications & Information Technology and Human Resource Development, Kapil sibal conferred the Meghdoot Awards on postal employees for 2009 and 2010 on 27 June 2011.The Best Post Office award was given to Chandragiri Head Post Office, Andhra Pradesh.

20.N. Murali, Senior Managing Director of Kasturi and Sons Ltd re-elected president of the Music Academy, Chennai.

21.Hindi literature Arvind Kumar was presented the Hindi Academy Shalaka Samman by well known poet and former bureaucrat Dr. Sita Kant Mahapatra at Delhi Secretariat.Shalaka Samman is the highest honour of Delhi state in the field of Hindi literature.

22.Union government appointed M V Tanksale as Chairman & MD of Central Bank of India.

23.Maharatna Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) received the prestigious Golden Peacock Environment Management Award for the year 2011. The award was presented Union Minister for Home Affairs Shri P. Chidambaram on 24th June 2011 in New Delhi. 

24.Vice Admiral Shekhar Sinha appointed Chief of the Integrated Defence Staff .

25.Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar became the first Indian to receive the Crans Montana Forum Award. The Crans Montana Forum Award was conferred upon him at a ceremony in Brussels.

26.The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on 27 June 2011 approved the appointment of 1974-batch IFS officer Ranjan Mathai, presently  Ambassador in Paris, as Foreign Secretary. He will succeed Nirupama Rao.

27.Foreign Minister of UAE Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Visited India
During his visit, Sheikh Abdullah and his Indian counterpart SM Krishna signed a bilateral MOU on periodic political consultations between the two foreign offices on bilateral issues as well as exchange of views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

28.Raj Kumar Singh took over as Union Home Secretary of India. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh cleared his appointment. Singh succeeded Gopal Krishna Pillai.
